Γιγαντιαία ροζ φλαμίνγκο κατέλαβαν το Met Gala

Ένα έργο τέχνης από λουλούδια που σχημάτιζαν μεγάλα ροζ φλαμίνγκο υποδεχόταν τους προσκεκλημένους στο Μητροπολιτικό Μουσείο Τέχνης της Νέας Υόρκης, στο μεγαλύτερο γεγονός μόδας της χρονιάς, το ετήσιο Met Gala, που διοργανώθηκε στην αμερικανική μητρόπολη τη Δευτέρα.

Η κάπα του οίκου Schiaparelli με σχέδια φλαμίνγκο από τη συλλογή του 2018, το φόρεμα με φτερά του Moschino από τη συλλογή του Άνοιξη 2016 και η μαύρη κωμωδία του 1972, «Ροζ Φλαμίνγκο», κλασική καλτ ταινία με περίεργη, τολμηρή πλοκή ενέπνευσαν τον διοργανωτή εκδηλώσεων , Ραούλ Αβίλα, ο οποίος επιβλέπει τη διακόσμηση της βραδιάς από το 2007.

Όπως αναφέρει το ΑΠΕ, κάθε χρόνο ο διοργανωτής και η ομάδα του δημιουργούν ένα αριστούργημα από άνθη, το ανεπίσημο επιβλητικό καλωσόρισμα στο Met Gala. Φέτος το γλυπτό ήταν ένα σμήνος φανταχτερών, περίτεχνων φλαμίνγκο.

«Παραπέμπουμε στους ακραίους και άγριους τόνους από την ταινία για να δημιουργήσουμε ένα εκλεπτυσμένο, πολυτελές και συναρπαστικό έργο που ξεπερνάει οποιεσδήποτε προσδοκίες», δήλωσε ο Àvila σε συνέντευξή του μιλώντας σχετικά. «Αυτή ήταν η ευκαιρία μας να πάρουμε το απροσδόκητο και να το μετατρέψουμε σε θεατρική και υπερβατική στιγμή για τη βιομηχανία», τόνισε ο ίδιος.

Για τη δημιουργία του εντυπωσιακού, γλυπτού ύψους 7,6 μέτρων αποτελούμενου από 30.000 άνθη εργάστηκαν 25 άνθρωποι.

Τα ροζ φλαμίνγκο ήταν επιλογή στο πνεύμα του φετινού θέματος του Met Gala και της έκθεσης του Ινστιτούτου Κοστουμιών του Μουσείου που εγκαινιάστηκε τη μεγάλη βραδιά της μόδας – της αισθητικής camp (στυλ αφύσικο, επιτηδευμένο).
